MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 28, 2026 — Stephen Curry went to the free-throw line 16 times on Wednesday night and made all 16. The last seven came in the final eight minutes, and they were the difference.

Curry scored a season-high 44 points on 11-of-27 shooting, with six 3-pointers, eight rebounds and six assists, and the Golden State Warriors beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 119-114. ESPN said it was his 46th 40-point game since turning 30, the most in NBA history.

The Warriors spent the first half running high screens for Curry to pull Rudy Gobert away from the rim, ESPN reported, and Minnesota never found an answer.

Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg gave Curry the help he needed with 26 points and nine rebounds. His running dunk with 2:16 left made it 115-104.

It was Minnesota's first game without Anthony Edwards, who was averaging 33.3 points a game and could miss up to two months after a procedure on his right knee. Jonathan Kuminga scored 20 against his former team, and Jaden McDaniels added 19. The Timberwolves have lost two straight after a 3-0 start.

Golden State has won two in a row after opening the season 0-3.
