Packers Hold Off Panthers 27-19 as Jordan Love Throws 3 TDs and Christian Watson Returns From a Hospital Trip
By The Arena Staff
GREEN BAY, Wis., Oct. 29, 2026 — Christian Watson spent part of Thursday night at a hospital and still finished as the best receiver on the field.
Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes and the Green Bay Packers held off a late Carolina push for a 27-19 win at Lambeau Field. Love completed 30 of 41 passes for 288 yards with one interception, according to ESPN's box score, and Green Bay bounced back from Sunday's last-second loss in Detroit to improve to 5-3. Carolina fell to 3-4.
Watson was slow to get up after hauling in a 53-yard pass from Love in the first half and walked off with what the team announced as a chest injury, Packers.com reported. He had his chest examined at a local hospital, NFL.com and Packers.com reported, then returned late in the third quarter. He ended the night with eight catches for 113 yards.
Josh Jacobs did the scoring work on the ground and through the air. He ran in from a yard out for a 13-10 lead before halftime and later caught a 4-yard touchdown on a wheel route that made it 27-10 in the third quarter. That catch pushed the three-time Pro Bowl running back past 10,000 career yards from scrimmage, Packers.com reported. Yards on the ground were hard to find, though: Jacobs gained 39 on 21 carries, and NFL.com noted the Packers averaged about 2.5 yards per rush. Matthew Golden and tight end Tucker Kraft also caught touchdown passes.
Green Bay's defense sacked Bryce Young six times, and Tyron Hopper tipped a pass to himself for an interception. The Packers made it harder than it needed to be by turning the ball over three times, NFL.com reported. Young, who threw for 209 yards, hit Jalen Coker for a 26-yard touchdown with 5:37 left to make it a one-score game. Carolina got the ball back near midfield but turned it over on downs with 2:46 to go, and its last-gasp lateral play ended with a fumble that Green Bay recovered as time ran out.
