Freeze warning covers Kentucky Saturday night as the coldest air of the week settles in
Forecasters expect a widespread freeze across Kentucky from midnight to 10 a.m. Sunday after a frosty start to Saturday. Sunshine and a warming trend follow, with fall color at its peak in central and eastern Kentucky.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 7) — A freeze warning is in effect across Kentucky from midnight tonight until 10 a.m. Sunday, and Saturday night is expected to be the coldest of the next several, WKYT reported.
Saturday started frosty. Louisville was under a frost advisory until 9 a.m., and afternoon highs there were expected only in the mid to upper 50s, WLKY reported. WKYT said most of the state should see clear skies, though areas from Maysville to Pikeville and to the northeast could stay mostly cloudy.
Sunday should be sunny, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, and Monday morning lows in the mid-30s, WKYT said.
A warming trend follows, with highs in the upper 60s Tuesday and Wednesday. WKYT said fall color is at its peak in central and eastern Kentucky, making the dry stretch a good window to see it. Rain chances return Wednesday night ahead of a cold front, with light rain likely Thursday and highs below 50 for much of the state by Friday.
