It Took Surveyors to Measure This Texas Food Truck. It's Over 76 Feet Long.
It has a pizza oven, a DJ booth and a TV for football. It took professional surveyors just to measure the thing.
NORTHLAKE, Texas, Oct. 23, 2026 — Most food trucks fit in a parking space. This one needed a surveying crew. The Ultimate Smoker & Grill, a barbecue rig based in Northlake, Texas, is now the Guinness World Records title holder for the largest food truck ever.
This wasn't a surprise discovery. The owners decided they wanted the title made official and submitted the truck for the record, Guinness World Records said. Its announcement is in the commercial section of its site, where records set up by businesses are listed.
## How Big Is It?
Guinness lists the rig at 76 ft 7.68 in (23.36 m) long, 11 ft 1.07 in (3.38 m) high and 14 ft 11.92 in (4.57 m) wide. For comparison, a standard semi trailer in the US is 53 feet long.
Getting those numbers right took real equipment. According to the Cross Timbers Gazette, a Denton surveying firm involved in the record-setting effort took the official measurements with professional surveying gear. A Guinness adjudicator traveled from Montreal to attend, and the town's mayor joined the celebration on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Hilltop Truck Park.
## What's on Board
This is a working kitchen. Guinness says a 4,000-pound (1,814 kg) smoker handles brisket, chicken and sausage, while dual griddles, a pizza oven and stovetops cover everything else. Outside there's a giant LED screen for football games, and a DJ can play through the rig's built-in sound system. The body was formed from a single piece of rolled steel.
The adjudicator said she was "amazed by the vehicle's well-equipped facilities, as well as its cleanliness and modern design."
## A Name Problem
The two sources don't quite agree on what it is. Guinness calls it the largest food truck, while the Cross Timbers Gazette calls it the world's largest "smoker and grill." Since it's a smoker and grill that drives around selling food, both work.
## What's Next
The rig has served barbecue across the South for nearly 30 years, and its 30th anniversary is in 2027, the Gazette reported. The owners plan a national road trip that year. "We are very happy that this truck has become a new record, which gives us more confidence for next year's nationwide tour," they told Guinness.
Between trips, it will be on permanent display at Hilltop Truck Park in Northlake. Parking it there is probably easier than parking it anywhere else.
